Our mission statement is "The Royal Harbour Academy is a proud community built upon success, high aspirations and a global outlook."
Our aim is that every student at the Royal Harbour Academy gains life skills and qualifications that will allow them to lead happy and fulfilled lives whether their next steps are in education, employment or further training. It is good to know that year on year all of our students either stay on in our sixth form, go to other local schools or secure full time employment in the workplace. Having previously been Headteacher at Dane Court Grammar School, I am pleased that the school is part of the Coastal Academies Trust, which not only includes Dane Court Grammar School but a number of other local schools. This provides benefits to both students and staff through, amongst other things, collaboration and exchange of good practice. Like myself, the Trust is determined that every child has real success and the schools work collaboratively to achieve this aim.
There were some excellent individual performance: Jaimie Bligh passed the IBCP gaining D*D*D* in BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care, a 5 in both English Literature and History and a B grade in his Reflective Project. Jaimie is going onto study Psychology at Southampton. On results day Jaimie said “I am extremely happy about my results and relieved that I have everything I need to make the next step towards my future.”
Picking the right options post 6th form is extremely important, everyone will have different needs and desires, which is why we have organised a trip for 6th form students to visit the UK University and Apprenticeship Fair in London.
