Japanese Volunteer Helper!
Yoko Fairman, a local Japanese lady, has visited Year 13 Japanese lessons and helped the class as a volunteer. Yoko kindly came every Tuesday this term to assist the students’ learning and practised Japanese with the students.
The students were excited to meet another native Japanese person in class and enjoyed talking with her. Taskin Buehl, one of the students mentioned ‘Yoko was a big help and it was really helpful when Ms Myers and she talked in Japanese and gave us feedback. She is full of knowledge and she was very friendly. Thank you!’
Yoko commented ‘It was a wonderful opportunity for me to see the students who are keen to learn our language and culture. I did enjoy helping them out!’
It was a real delight to have Yoko in class and a big ‘arigatou (thank you)’ to her!
