Celebrating Achievement: The Royal Harbour Academy Hosts Annual Presentation Evening

Date: Wednesday 26th November 2025

Where: The Royal Harbour Academy

The Royal Harbour Academy recently celebrated the exceptional achievements of its students at the Annual Presentation Evening, an inspiring event reflecting on last academic year and highlighting the hard work, talent, and dedication of learners from Year 8 through to the Sixth Form.

The evening began with a warm welcome for award winners and their families, who enjoyed refreshments before making their way to the school theatre and atrium for the main ceremony . Students from every year group were recognised, with winners carefully selected by their subject leaders and the senior leadership team.

The school had the privilege of welcoming Bishop Rose of the Diocese of Canterbury as their special guest, who delivered an uplifting and motivational speech, encouraging students to stay resilient, ambitious, and compassionate. Her key message about the destination, not the origin, being the defining factor for a successful life perfectly reflected the values the school nurtures. Cllr Pat Moore, Deputy Mayor, and Sarah Snaydon, Chair of Governors, joined Headteacher Mr Pullen in congratulating students and presenting their certificates.

Sixth Form Head Student, Ellie, was invited to make the closing remarks and did so eloquently, sharing her own experiences.

Reflecting on the evening, Headteacher Mr Pullen said: "Thank you to Bishop Rose. She was an inspiration to every single person at the event, and her heartfelt talk had a real impact on our young people. I am sure that her words will have changed some of our students' lives."

As part of the evening, The Royal Harbour Academy was also proud to make a donation to the Bishop’s Justice Appeal. This important appeal raises vital funds to support refugee projects in Northern France, providing practical assistance and compassion to those living in extremely difficult circumstances. By contributing to this cause, the school reinforces its commitment to empathy, global awareness, and social responsibility values that lie at the heart of our community.

Sarah Snaydon, Chair of Governors, added: "I still remember my experiences as a very young and green trainee teacher at Conyngham as it was then, and to be part of such a large gathering of delighted parents and aspirational students on that same site, with talented and passionate teachers and leaders, made me feel immensely proud to be part of this success story."

Recognising student achievement is at the heart of life at The Royal Harbour Academy. Celebrating their hard work and success not only motivates students to strive for excellence but also builds confidence and showcases the diverse talents across the school. By honouring achievements whether academic, creative, or in leadership the Academy reinforces its values, inspires others, and strengthens the sense of pride and community that makes the school a supportive and thriving environment for all.

The Royal Harbour Academy also extends its thanks to the parents, carers, and families who attended the evening to support and celebrate the student’s achievements. Their encouragement plays a vital role in nurturing students’ confidence and success. A sincere thank you is also given to all staff who worked tirelessly to organise the event, ensuring it was a smooth, memorable, and inspiring occasion for everyone involved.
