The Royal Harbour Academy is thrilled to announce the outstanding achievements of its Sixth Form students in the International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme (IBCP). Their remarkable dedication and commitment has truly paid off, culminating in a year of significant academic success and personal growth.
Our students studied a rigorous curriculum, showing exceptional academic excellence through the successful completion of Level 3 BTECs alongside challenging IB Diploma Programme courses.
Beyond their demanding coursework and academic subjects, our IBCP students excelled in the programme's core components. This included invaluable personal and professional skills development, community-focused service learning projects, and reflective essays that explored complex ethical dilemmas. Further enriching their experience, students embraced global citizenship through mandatory language acquisition, immersing themselves in an international culture, with a particular focus on Japanese culture and language.
Head of School, Kris Lasslett said, “I am incredibly proud of our Sixth Form students for achieving an exceptional set of results this year, a true testament to their dedication, resilience, and ambition. The results show a significant increase in the average grade that our sixth form students achieve. These excellent results directly advance our RHA mission, further establishing our school as a vital HUB for social mobility by ensuring our young people are equipped with the qualifications and confidence they need to access universities, competitive apprenticeships, and thriving careers. We couldn't be prouder of their success and look forward to seeing the incredible impact they will undoubtedly make in the world.”
Here are some of the fantastic individual performances:
Caden achieved a grade 6 in IB Biology, a grade 5 in IB Psychology and a B grade in his Reflective Project. He has accepted a place at the University of Greenwich to study Paramedic Science, to become a paramedic after his successful studies. Caden said, ”Throughout my time at RHA I have always been supported to be my best self. The teachers go above and beyond to create a welcoming and inclusive community.”
Chloe received a grade 5 in higher level IB English Literature and Language and a grade 6 in IB Psychology. Chloe has already accepted her unconditional offer to read Law at the University of Portsmouth. Chloe said “Royal Harbour has helped me in so many ways, they have given me so much support and motivation throughout my two years here and my teachers, especially Ms Dougal and Ms Forge, really encouraged me to believe in myself!”
One of our Head Students, Ellie, who has been a fantastic representative of our school throughout her time here, received a grade 5 in higher level IB English Literature and Language, a grade 5 in IB Psychology and a C grade in her Reflective Project, another fantastic achievement. Ellie said “After joining the school for Sixth Form, I want to give my utmost appreciation to the wonderful staff here at RHA, who always pushed me to be my most confident and best self, with a special mention to Mr Stoner who was the best Head of Sixth Form I could ask for.”
Head of Sixth Form, Josh Stoner, said: “We couldn't be prouder of our students and their outstanding achievements in the IB Diploma Programme. These excellent results reflect not only their dedication and perseverance but also the exceptional support and commitment of our teaching staff. Throughout their IB journey, our students have developed far more than academic knowledge. They have strengthened their critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills while gaining a broad, global perspective. These qualities will equip them to thrive in higher education or employment, and we look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the future.
We warmly invite prospective students to explore the enriching opportunities within our Sixth Form community.
