Date: 26th March 2026
Where: The Royal Harbour Academy
On 26th March, our school proudly hosted an exciting in-house Spelling Bee competition on the Lower Site. The event brought together six talented students from Years 7, 8, and 9, who demonstrated exceptional spelling skills, confidence, and determination.
The competition was enjoyed by an enthusiastic audience, with several Year 7 and Year 8 classes in attendance, creating a lively and supportive atmosphere. The event was expertly hosted by Mr Wall, who delivered each word with clarity and professionalism, keeping both participants and spectators fully engaged.
We are delighted to congratulate our winners:
Ryder (Year 7)
Talal (Year 8)
Sapphire (Year 9)
Each winner was awarded a unique medal, specially crafted by our DT teacher, Mr Dagg, making their achievement even more memorable.
Mrs Holmes, who organised the event, commented:"The Spelling Bee was a massive success today—the students watching and the finalists had a brilliant time, and the competition was fierce. Really worthy winners who showcased being Ready, Honourable, and Aspirational!"
Taking part in events like the Spelling Bee is incredibly valuable for students. Competitions such as this help to build confidence, as students challenge themselves to perform in front of their peers and step outside of their comfort zones. They also encourage resilience, quick thinking, and a positive attitude towards learning.
The event highlighted not only academic excellence but also the positive values of encouragement, resilience, and respect within our school community. We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future.
