Students Unite for Another Outstanding Whole-School Sports Day

Following the tremendous success of last year's  combined Sports Day, our school once again brought together students from both the Upper and Lower Sites for an unforgettable day of competition, teamwork and school spirit.

The whole school came together to take part in a wide range of sporting events, creating an atmosphere of excitement and encouragement throughout the day. The event showcased the talent, determination and sportsmanship of our students as they competed in javelin, football, tug of war, long jump, high jump, dodgeball and shot put.

The day provided opportunities for students of all abilities to represent their year,  challenge themselves and cheer on their peers. It was fantastic to see so many students supporting one another, celebrating success and demonstrating resilience across every event.

One of the highlights of the day was the eagerly anticipated staff relay race, which had students lining the track to cheer on their teachers. After a closely contested race, the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) sprinted to victory, with the mathematics department finishing in second place and the PE department securing third.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the day was seeing students and teachers working alongside one another outside of the classroom. Sporting events like these provide a unique opportunity to build stronger relationships, encourage teamwork and create lasting memories in a different environment. Whether competing together, supporting each other from the side lines or sharing a laugh during the staff relay race, the day highlighted the positive connections that make our school community so special. Experiences like this help strengthen mutual respect, boost confidence and remind everyone that learning and personal development extend far beyond the classroom. 

In line with our school ethos, the day was fully inclusive, ensuring that every student had the opportunity to get involved and enjoy the experience. A wide range of engaging activities was organised for students who remained in the building, including esports, board games, banner design and creation, and other creative activities.

A huge thank you goes to the PE Department, staff, volunteers and student leaders who helped organise and run the event, ensuring everything ran smoothly. Most importantly, congratulations to every student who took part and contributed to making the day such a memorable celebration of sport, teamwork and school pride.
