Strike Day - 2nd March 2023

Updated: Apr 19, 2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

Following previous strike action, the NEU have decided to continue strike action with the next strike day being planned for Thursday 2nd March 2023, and I want to give you as much notice as possible about the arrangements for the day.

Based on the amount of staff who belong to the NEU we are having to limit the amount of students we have in school on the day of the strike, with priority being given to those year groups who are due to sit public exams along with our youngest students.

I would be grateful if you would check the arrangements listed below carefully in how it relates to your son or daughter.

The following year groups will attend school as normal from 8.45am until 3.15pm:

● Year 13, Year 12 and Year 7

The following students should attend for part of the day from 8.45am to 2pm:

● All Year 11 students as they are sitting their Pre Public Exams.

● Year 10 students due to sit their BTEC Music controlled assessment. (Students will be notified separately by Miss Moss).

All other year groups unfortunately cannot be accommodated in school on the day, however homework is available online as usual.

Catering arrangements will be as usual on the day. If your son or daughter is not due to be in school on the day but is in receipt of free school meals, they may attend in uniform at lunchtime from 1.30pm to claim their usual lunch. However, if you would like your child to claim their free school meal we will need you to

inform the school office by Tuesday evening so that we can cook enough food, and students must register in and out at the office when they arrive and leave.

Should you have any questions then please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
