We are thrilled to share the incredible achievements of three of our talented Year 8 students Evelyn, Billie, and Sophia who competed against many different countries in the United Dance Organisation (UDO) World Street Dance Championships this summer and secured an impressive 6th place finish!
Held in Blackpool this August, the UDO World Finals brought together top street dance crews from around the globe. Evelyn, Billie, and Sophia represented their crew, the Regency Vice Crew, from Regency Dance Performing Arts School; they were the only team from England to qualify in their category, what an achievement!
The competition was fierce, with teams from dozens of countries participating, but the trio danced their hearts out alongside their teammates and proudly earned their spot in the global top 10.
In addition to the group’s success, Evelyn reached the Quarter Finals in the Under-14s Duo category with her partner Lily, an incredible personal achievement given the level of talent on display.
The event was not just about competition, but also about unity and celebration. Everyone was cheering and waving their national flags, creating an electric and uplifting atmosphere. Dancers from around the world supported one another, showcasing the true spirit of international sportsmanship and passion for street dance.
As they now gear up for the upcoming competition season, the girls are already setting their sights on the next UDO World Finals in 2027. We are so proud of the dedication, teamwork, and talent shown by Evelyn, Billie, and Sophia. Their achievement is a shining example of what hard work and commitment can lead to.
As a school, we love to celebrate and share the successes of our students, not just those achieved in the classroom, but also their amazing accomplishments outside of school. Whether it's sport, performing arts, or community involvement, we are proud of the diverse talents and passions our students pursue.
Congratulations to all three students, we can't wait to see what you do next!
