Curriculum Intent

The Royal Harbour Academy provides a broad curriculum that caters for the full range of student ability. Our curriculum intends to provide our students with the expert knowledge and skills they will need to be successful as working adults, as well as developing the qualities needed to be resilient, happy and fulfilled in their lives.

Our subject curricula must:

  • Be broad in scope, engaging and challenging

  • Comprise expert subject and pedagogical knowledge applied to meet the needs of all abilities

  • Develop cultural capital

  • Develop our students as individuals with a sound moral outlook

Curriculum Breakdown

The curriculum is planned to ensure we create a positive and supportive environment for all students, without exception. We have an inclusive curriculum that removes barriers to learning and participation, provides a learning experience that is appropriate to students needs, and promotes high standards and the fulfilment of potential for all our students.

Our curriculum is routinely reviewed to fully comply with the Equality Act 2010, and the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014.
