The Royal Harbour Academy is proud to announce that it has been officially named a Thrive Ambassador School with Excellence in Environment. This prestigious award recognises the school’s commitment to creating a physical and emotional environment that nurtures the mental health and well-being of every student.
The Thrive Ambassador award is a mark of distinction for educational settings that go above and beyond in embedding the Thrive Approach—a trauma-informed, developmental framework designed to help children and young people become more resilient and open to learning.
Achieving "Excellence in Environment" signifies that The Royal Harbour Academy has successfully cultivated a setting where the surroundings proactively support emotional regulation. From sensory-conscious classrooms to calming outdoor spaces, the school has demonstrated that the physical environment is a vital tool in a child’s developmental journey.
"We are delighted to receive this recognition," said Kristian Lasslett, Deputy Headteacher and SENCO "Our team has worked tirelessly to ensure that our school is more than just a place of study—it is a sanctuary where our children and young people feel safe, supported, and ready to thrive."
Looking ahead, the school plans to continue its journey with the Thrive Approach, working towards becoming a Thrive School of Excellence, to ensure a holistic, gold-standard experience for all students.
