July Strike Days

The National Education Union have decided to continue strike action with the next strike days being planned for Wednesday 5th July and Friday 7th July 2023 and I want to give you some advance notice about the arrangements for those days.

Based on the amount of staff who belong to the NEU we are having to limit the amount of students we have in school on the days of the strike.

I would be grateful if you would check the arrangements listed below to check if your son or

daughter should be in school.

Wednesday 5th July 2023: The following year groups will attend school as normal from 8.45am until 3.15pm: Year 12, Year 10 and Year 8.

Please note that any Year 10 students on work experience should continue to attend their work placement but all other Year 10 students should attend school.

Friday 7th July 2023: The following year groups will attend school as normal from 8.45am until 3.15pm: Year 12 and Year 10.

Please note that any Year 10 students on work experience should continue to attend their work placement but all other Year 10 students should attend school.

All other year groups unfortunately cannot be accommodated in school on those days however homework is available online. Catering arrangements will be as usual.

If your son or daughter is not due to be in school on the day but is in receipt of free school meals they may attend in uniform at lunchtime from 1.30pm to claim their usual lunch. However if you would like your child to claim their free school meal we will need you to inform the school office by 3.15pm on Monday 3rd July so that we can cook enough food, and they must register at the office when they arrive and leave.

Should you have any questions then please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
