• What is the intent of MFL at RHA?
The Spanish curriculum is designed to develop our student’s language skills, cultural awareness and
appreciation, and ensures students are happy and confident to communicate effectively in Spanish. The
depth of our curriculum equip our students with crucial knowledge, transferable skills and resilience, which
they will benefit from when engaged with the local or global community.

In today’s multicultural and competitive world, the ability to communicate in multiple languages and
understand diverse cultures is crucial as it open up an array of opportunities in the students’ personal and
professional lives. Learning languages builds students’ knowledge, analytical skills, resilience and
confidence, essential traits that ensure academic, personal and professional success.

How does MFL deliver the intent?
Our curriculum is delivered by language specialists through engaging and challenging lessons and it provides
students with opportunities to participate in cultural and academic events. Our differentiated lessons
ensures all students engage with vocabulary and grammatical concepts and practise applying them in
different contexts. Revisiting topics, assessments and feedback are regular parts of the learning process,
giving students the opportunity to reflect on the knowledge they have acquired and progress.
