Intent
What is the intent of UPS at RHA?
At the heart of our BTEC Uniformed Protective Services curriculum is the commitment to providing every student with the knowledge, skills, and character needed to thrive in careers dedicated to the safety and well-being of others. We believe in offering the best possible opportunities for our students to become confident, resilient, and knowledgeable individuals, who are not only prepared for the challenges of uniformed services and life outside of school but are also inspired to contribute positively to their communities, both locally and globally.
Why is this our intent?
We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to develop lifelong skills that enable students to be confident and knowledgeable to lead a positive lives for their local and global communities.
How does UPS deliver the intent?
This intent will be delivered through a blend of high-quality teaching, practical experience, and character development. Students will engage in both theoretical and practical learning, which mirror real-world challenges in the uniformed services. Leadership, teamwork, resilience, and critical thinking will be fostered through group activities, scenario-based learning, and reflective practice. Personalised support will ensure every student is prepared to go on to change the world and lead brilliant lives.
Public service must be more than doing a job efficiently and honestly. It must be a complete dedication to the people and to the nation.
